It is a true 8-8-8. 8 + 8 + 2+0+2+6 = 26, and two plus six is eight. The last one was 2017. The next is 2035.
Jupiter is in Leo. It entered on June 30, 2026. Jupiter expands whatever it touches, and it is standing in the sign this gate is named for. Last time that overlapped a Lion's Gate was 2014.
The gate does not close quietly. On August 12 a total solar eclipse lands at 20 degrees Leo. The portal opens, peaks, then gets sealed.
The nodes moved July 26, the day the gate opened. South Node into Leo. So this is not about performing more brightness. It is about what you have been doing with yours that was never yours to carry.
Eight chambers, eleven lines each. Eight for the gate, eleven for the threshold.
Read slowly. Notice which line you skim past. That is the one to sit with.
A portal amplifies. It does not discriminate. If I want to be seen is sitting on top of it has never been safe to be seen, this season will faithfully expand both, and the older one usually wins.
So we clear first. Not to fix you. To get the contradiction out of the way so the current has somewhere to go.
EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. In plain language: you tap lightly with your fingertips on a sequence of points on your face and torso while saying out loud the thing that is actually bothering you.
That is it. No equipment, no practitioner, ten minutes. It looks strange the first time. Most people feel mildly ridiculous, and then about four minutes in something shifts and they stop caring how it looks.
Why tapping on your face does anything. When you bring up something distressing, your nervous system responds as though the threat is present. That is why insight alone so often changes nothing. You can understand a pattern completely and still have a body that braces every time it comes near.
Tapping appears to work by giving your system two contradictory inputs at once. You deliberately activate the distress by saying the true thing out loud, while providing steady, rhythmic, non-threatening physical contact. The body receives this is dangerous and I am safe and being touched gently in the same moment. Held together long enough, the pairing tends to loosen. The memory stays. The charge drops.
Several controlled trials have found meaningful reductions in anxiety and PTSD symptoms with EFT protocols. Skeptics reasonably note that much of the benefit may come from exposure and self-soothing rather than the points themselves. I find that mostly beside the point. Exposure plus self-soothing plus saying the true thing out loud is a good mechanism. It does not need to be mysterious to be useful.
It is not positive thinking. This is what people get most wrong. EFT does not work by talking yourself into feeling better. It works by saying the unflattering thing accurately. Round one below opens with I want this and something in me does not believe I will get it, not with I am a magnet for abundance. Soften the words to make them nicer and you lose the effect, because your body knows the difference.
Why there are three rounds. Most scripts online have two. State the problem, state the reframe. That is why most of them do not work. Round two here thanks the part of you that built the block, because a block is not a malfunction, it is a strategy that worked. It will very often step back if it is acknowledged first. It will not step back if you argue with it.
Tap gently, five to seven taps per point, with two or three fingers.
There is no wrong pressure.
You are not performing acupuncture. You are giving your nervous system a rhythm to hold onto while you tell it the truth.
The points repeat in the same order every round, so you will know the sequence by the second session and can stop reading.
Tapping can bring things up. That is usually the point and usually fine. But if you touch something much bigger than this practice, stop tapping on the memory and tap only on I am safe in this room, in this body, right now. Then stop. Water. Name five things you can see.
Big material deserves a witness, not a solo session at 11pm before a portal. There is no bonus for going alone into something that needs company.
Say out loud what you want from this portal. The real one, not the presentable one.
Now notice what your body does immediately after. A tightening. A flatness. A small internal objection. A sudden urge to check your phone.
That response is the block. Not a metaphor for it. It.
Timing is real, and it is not magic. It works for two reasons and neither requires you to believe anything.
The first is astronomical. The Sun really does conjoin Jupiter at a calculable minute. The eclipse really does reach maximum at a specific second. These are positions, not interpretations.
The second is behavioural, and it is the bigger one. A deadline makes people act. Tell yourself you will do the work "during the portal" and you will do it on the 11th in a hurry. Tell yourself 7:00am Wednesday and you will set an alarm.
What timing will not do is make up for skipping the clearing. The hour is the smallest variable here. It is just the easiest one to get right.
The Sun and Jupiter reach exact conjunction at 6 degrees Leo. Zero separation. Traditional astrology calls this being cazimi, in the heart of the Sun, and considers it the strongest possible placement for a benefic planet.
By August 8 they have separated to seven and a half degrees. Still good. Not this.
What to do: one thing, before 9am. Ask for something at full size. Out loud, in writing, or by sending the message you have been drafting. Not a ritual. An ask, with no qualifier and no pre-emptive discount.
Jupiter cannot expand a request you did not make. If you do only one timed thing this portal, do this one.
The darkest week of the lunar cycle begins. Anything you end between now and the 12th has the whole cycle behind it. Cancel the obligation. Say the no. Do the tapping.
Here is what almost every Lion's Gate product this year will get wrong. The moon is 21.6 percent lit and waning. Last quarter was the 5th, new moon is the 12th. The peak lands in the balsamic phase, the oldest and darkest part of the cycle.
Which is useful rather than disappointing, because it tells you exactly what to do with the day. Do not force a beginning. Spend it setting down. That is precisely what a dark moon is for, and this year it coincides with the strongest gate of the summer.
Three windows. Pick one.
An eclipse is a new moon, and a new moon begins a cycle. This one is total, in Leo, at the exact moment the portal closes. You cleared. You released on the 8th. Now there is room, and this is the seed hour.
What to do: less than you think. Twenty minutes, quiet, between noon and 1:30. No candle, no burning, no invocation. Ask one question:
What did I decide on August 8, and am I still deciding it?
Then write your one sentence, once, on paper you keep. An eclipse does not need help from you.
On the "never manifest during an eclipse" thing. Traditional astrology treats eclipses as omens rather than opportunities, and that caution has a real lineage. Modern practice treats a solar eclipse as an amplified new moon. Both positions are held by serious people. My read: an eclipse removes before it gives, so do not use it to force something new into a life that has not made room. Use it the way it behaves. Let it take what is already finished, and name what is true underneath.
Three months out. Nothing amplified, nobody watching. Ask whether you kept the promise. Put it in your phone now.
Every Lion's Gate description you will read says the portal opens because Sirius rises in alignment with the Sun. I checked, for August 8, 2026.
At 48 degrees north, Sirius rises at 6:38 AM and the Sun rises at 6:29 AM. Sirius comes up nine minutes after the Sun, completely lost in daylight. You could not see it with a telescope.
In Cairo, Sirius rises 66 minutes before the Sun. Clearly visible.
That difference is the whole story. The heliacal rising of Sirius was observed in ancient Egypt, at the latitude of the Nile, roughly five thousand years ago, and it marked the flood that made the year survivable. It earned every bit of its reputation. It has also been copy-pasted northward and forward for millennia without anyone rechecking the sky.
I am telling you because I would rather hand you something true than something impressive. And the honest version is better anyway, because what is actually overhead this year does not need the embellishment.
Jupiter in Leo, first time during a Lion's Gate since 2014. A date that sums to eight, first time since 2017. A total solar eclipse in Leo closing the gate, which does not happen annually. And a peak in the dark of the moon, which tells you what the 8th is for. Four things that are checkable. You do not need a fifth one that is not.
Everything else in this system is support for those three.
| Zone | Jul 29 Sun/Jupiter | Aug 12 eclipse |
|---|---|---|
| Pacific | 5:00 AM | 10:36 AM |
| Mountain | 6:00 AM | 11:36 AM |
| Central | 7:00 AM | 12:36 PM |
| Eastern | 8:00 AM | 1:36 PM |
| UTC | 12:00 PM | 5:36 PM |
| London | 1:00 PM | 6:36 PM |
8:08 is 8:08 wherever you are. That is the appeal of it, and there is nothing wrong with using it.
This builds one ritual, shaped to what you are actually working with. Answer what you can. Skip what you cannot.
A portal does not change your life. It changes what you are willing to do on an ordinary Tuesday. That is the whole mechanism.
